The 2008 National Regional, Rural and Sub Metro Broadcasters Conference

The 2008 National Regional, Rural and Sub Metro Broadcasters conference will be held in Ballarat Victoria on Friday May 2nd through to Sunday May 4th.

The conference committee is already working hard to ensure that the 2008 Conference will be an outstanding event.

The conference theme for Ballarat will be “Back to Basics”.

Workshops will be aimed at the problems encountered in the day to day operation of a grassroots Community Broadcasting station and will include topics such as governance, sales and marketing, management training, funding and much more.

The 2008 National Regional, Rural and Sub Metro Broadcasters Conference will use the extraordinary facilities of the Ballarat University. The Conference will utilize some of the universities lecture theatres providing delegates and presenters with a great learning environment using the latest technology

There have been some changes for the 2008 National Regional, Rural & Sub Metro Broadcasters Conference. The conference committee has taken on board some of the suggestions and recommendations that came from the delegates at the last conference along with changes that the committee believes will make the 2008 Conference the best yet.

One of the main changes is that the Trade area will now be combined with the food area in a separate room. This will mean that trade people will have the opportunity to speak with and demonstrate to delegates at any time through out the conference without the noise cross over of previous years. It will also mean that delegates who with to skip a workshop and continue to network can do so.

With trade exhibitors already indicating that they will be there and many delegates who were waiting to hear the location of the conference it looks like the 2008 Conference will be a must attend event in the Community Broadcasting Sectors Calendar. More details are on the SCMA’s Website www.scma1.com and Blog site www.myspace.com/scma1 and as more information comes to hand it will appear on these sites
